Well inspections for Flathead home sales
Call (406) 407-9468 or request service below. Licensed Montana water well contractors and pump techs handle the work after you request service.
Montana doesn't force a statewide well inspection at every home sale the way some states mandate septic checks, but Flathead buyers, lenders, and contracts still ask for one. A useful inspection looks at the well head and sanitary seal, accessible equipment, apparent flow and pressure behavior, and recent water quality results, then ties findings back to the GWIC log when one exists.
Bring any well log, pump invoice, or prior water test you have. Knowing casing depth, static water level, and original yield helps the inspector separate a tired pump from a tired aquifer. If the sale timeline is tight, say so up front so testing turnaround and any retest window fit the closing date.
Questions about this service
Is a well inspection required to sell in Montana?
No statewide mandate for every sale. Lenders, buyers, or the purchase contract may still require evaluation and water tests.
What if the inspection finds a problem?
Common outcomes are pump replacement, a sanitary cap fix, chlorination and retest, or a price credit. Serious casing or aquifer issues may reopen the drilling conversation.
